Russia have qualified for their first ever Rugby World Cup thanks to a 21-21 draw with Romania in Sochi on Saturday and as a result the Russians cannot be overtaken in second in the European Nations Cup table, guaranteeing their 2011 place.
Russia’s neighbours - Georgia beat Spain 17-9 to go top of the group by two points and seal their qualification with two games remaining. The top team in the table will be decided by the Georgia v Russia match on the 20th March 2010 - who will then face England, Scotland and Argentina in Pool B in New Zealand next year.
Well done to Russia!

It’s brilliant to see a nation like Russia reach the Rugby World Cup Finals. Unfortunately, they lost their last game with Georgia 36 – 8. This means they are in Pool C, a tough group with Australia, Ireland, Italy and USA. Rugby World Cup 2011, New Zealand should be a fantastic tournament.
